Each month, we disclose to our employees the energy consumption at our head office and other information in an effort to improve our daily operations by making it visible. We also participate in the Carbon Neutral Committee as the Mitsubishi Steel Mfg. Group.
Past initiatives
We have been promoting visualization of energy consumption since 2010, and have achieved a significant reduction in CO2 emissions by improving the efficiency of lighting and plant transformers, reducing electricity consumption by reviewing the operation of compressors for plant air, and reducing LPG gas consumption by improving the efficiency of gas furnaces.
Future initiatives
We participate in the Carbon Neutral Committee of the Mitsubishi Steel Mfg. Group, which sets target values for CO2 emission reductions by FY2030. We are working on various measures to achieve these targets, such as improving heat treatment furnace efficiency and power saving in welding and machining facilities.
Contribution to the local community
We also participate in the Nagasaki Eco Life Festa, held annually by Nagasaki City, and are working to reduce CO2 emissions by refraining from commuting by car and so on. In addition, we regularly conduct cleanup activities in the vicinity of the head office as part of our efforts to contribute to our neighborhood.

Training of young employees
We are strengthening our support for young employees through mentoring and on-the-job training systems. We also hold rank-specific training programs for new employees, mid-level employees, and so on, as well as skill improvement training programs, in an effort to improve the job performance of all employees as much as possible. In addition, we focus on developing human resources who can play an active part globally by implementing e-learning programs for self-development, study sessions to prepare for TOEIC, and so on.

Other initiatives for the community
Our softball team participates in a softball tournament for working adults held every year, and the team competed in the national tournament in FY2021. Every year, we hold a softball tournament in which employees and their families can participate, which deepens friendships not only among employees but also among their families. In addition, we held a sports day event in FY2019.
